APRIL SHOWERS...... MAKE THAT MAY SHOWERS Hi everyone, been a while since I last posted, but really with lockdowns wasn't much to share . Fashions were all about comfort and loungewear . How many loungewear posts can one look at. But now that we are finally over lockdowns and travel is soon possible , there are things to look forward to. Like getting outdoors, going for hikes or camping.  We have had a mixed bag of weather  lately, some hot days followed by cooler, then rainy days. Its actually nice to have some rain. I like how fresh the air is after a good downpour.   One thing needed for such unusual weather is a decent jacket : I don't mind to be out in the rain, so long as I have the right jacket or coat. I like  a hooded one that covers one well and protects your head. I use to have  a  longer nylon  jacket with a concealed hood hidden in the collar , which was nice and compact for travel and didn't look like  sportswear.  But now ...

  I love a change now and then , but lets face it, it is not always possible or can be to expensive if you follow trends . Shopping for new things can really add up and also adds more clutter to our closets. Of course we can donate some items or sell online. But it is also a good idea to look for pieces that will last for several years. I have some pieces in my closet that would be considered vintage. Linen suit or a designer knit top.   SIMPLE CHANGES  Sometimes I like a simple change . One of my favourite ways to make a change are my nails.  A new nail polish is always  so fun to try. Not only does it look nice but it can cheer one up to have a simple change. I have tried many different brands of polishes, once i find a colour I love I make sure to get extra, because nothing is more annoying if it is discontinued.  SO now is time for a simple easy change.   What about you?   Getting Back into the Swing  of Things That really is something I have been trying to do... after such a long time of being in lockdowns. I am sure it is much the same for most of us this past year. Life has thrown us a curve ball and much more! One thing that really changed is there is no need to really dress up much. Its the comfortable outfit that dominates the wardrobe.  Loose fitting items, like loungewear, sweatpants and tops, hoodies or t-shirts.  Comfort was key. FASHIONS FOR FALL Here we are in the middle of August , yet it is still pretty hot out.  For some though the weather is a bit more chilly . The fashions are already showing fall styles . Getting ready for fall. Here are some of things that I would pick to wear for fall.                                                       The simple shirt dress is ideal, its light and yet is versatile to wear through to fall. Just add a nice blazer and it is complete. The next piece is a great item to have for fall and winter a lovely leather or faux leather skirt. Anything leather is always a good investment piece.  A simple pair of mules, these with the snake print are really perfect to wear with the about items. A casual look jacket that can' be worn together with the above pieces or  a pair of slacks. MODERN LOOK...

DENIM ANYONE? I have always liked the look of denim for its more casual layback look, but denim jeans are not really my thing. First off I find them uncomfortable to wear, to stiff and not comfy to bend or sit in. But a denim dress  is something else, even a nice denim shirt is more my liking. A found this summer shirt dress in denim that is so soft and comfortable, plus it was sleeveless which makes it cooler to wear on hot summers days like we have now. I also like how I can give it a more casual look, or style it with a tank top or t-shirt under for a bit of a change.  Even dressing it a bit more with a scarf, accessories or a blazer over it. Yes this denim dress is going to be very versatile this summer and even for fall. The straw tote is a new addition , a good size tote to carry the important things, plus more. Stylish Sandals for Summer Are you a shoe lover? Ideally probably the best sandals we like to wear is something flat, maybe with a  slight heel and easy to slip on.  Nothing to tight that pinches the toes or is uncomfortable. Here are a few pairs of sandals that I like to wear . The silver flip flops I liked  for the detail with the silver buckles, they are okay to wear around the house or for stepping out for coffee, but not great for real walking in. For one thing I am not keen on anything wedged between my toes. It digs in so is really uncomfortable.  So I am not a flip flop girl! The other 2 pairs have a slight wedge, are comfortable as you can't feel any stones , a bonus ! Plus I can't wear a totally flat shoe. They both have a rubber sole, so no slipping. FINALLY IT ARRIVED In one of my last posts about summer dresses and my online shopping experience, the items I was waiting for never arrived, but this week the package FINALLY arrived. I was looking for some midi length dresses which I find the most coolest and comfortable when it is so unbearably hot - also anything in cotton was important. So I was delighted to finally get it, try on the items . The one piece I found was a simple midi dress, t-shirt style with a  flounced bottom , plus it was 100% Cotton. .It is a little more a fun and feminine style.   Perfect for the hot summer days we are having . I also was looking for a good size tote for summer ,  the straw style bags are always great for summer.   I found one that is the right size, with long and short handles. What a great idea! Love that it has that, if you like to carry it either way -  over your shoulder or by handle. ( similar to those pricey Loewe bags) An EASY...

Im not a big instagram follower per se. but I do love blogs and a few bloggers i look at on instagram now and then. Recently I came across some interesting sites that are dedicated to the Curvy girls. The   size16 Style,  size18 Style and so on. Its features many different girls and their fashion style. They submit their photo and then its part of the instagram page. What a great idea and great inspiration for all women!

GETTING THE SUMMER FEEL Yes I am probably late at getting the summer items, but with the strange situation we are in and the social distancing thing and things not being open.  My thought was why buy anything if you can not be out and about? Right? WRONG. It is still nice to get into the summer feel , even if its just a pair of shorts and t-shirt or whatever. So I decided start the month of July with some summer items. Placed my order , waited and waited for it ..... NO PACKAGE 2 weeks later.  Things got lost in the post . So had to reorder items again. Hopefully this time it arrives. Fingers crossed they fit or look good. That is always the thing, you can shop online , see something and think it will be nice. But then its not at all like that or right style or fit. The Trend of the Season Its seen everywhere, firstly the designers  , the influencers and many instagramers  are wearing the oversize look. The loose fitting  oversize look is available in coats , sweaters  and blazers. The best thing about it is it looks comfortable,  but can overwhelm a shorter person. So you need to be aware of how to style it and find the right fit for your shape. To baggy or boxy will make a person look even bigger,  one way to get it right is not to have a coat with to much extras , or wear a sweater with a v neckline . Pick chunkier jewellery pieces to add interest. A NEW LOOK OR NEW IDEAS When I started this blog i was debating whether to write it as the Average  or  Plus Size perspective. As most women are over the size 14 and that is considered plus. I really do not care for labels and size categories. I find it more of a way to make women feel more self conscious about their looks . For me that is really something I hate. For myself my weight was not really a problem when i was younger , but as one ages our bodies change.(especially after babies or illness)  So of course my shape is no longer the same as when a , 18  or 20s year old and of course over time bodies can be more curvy or fuller .   So maybe the analogy of a full bottle of wine that has aged is better. Women are like a fine wine , they get better as they age!   So Perfect Plus  style came to be and I am happy to be able  to share inspiration for woman of all sizes and shapes. SOME GREAT FALL FASHION LOOKS TO TRY. By now we are starting to feel the cooler mornings , windy or rainy. Wherever  you are the change in temperatures makes us put away the summery outfits and shoes and start to bring out the long sleeves and closed shoes. This falls season i am looking forward to wearing some of the latest trends, even though to me these styles have been around a long time.  MAD for LEATHER  anything leather is worth getting and keeps it style years later. So investing in some leather pieces is a great idea from a leather coat , skirt , slacks , blazer or top.  Even going vintage is  a good way to get a leather piece .
